Mobile Satellite operation via ECHO, AO-51 1 Aug 2008 ----------------------------------------------------------------- The pass times of ECHO repeat every 5 days. Just cut the table below for your time zone. Tape it to your dashboard and you can see pass times for your mobile every day for the next few months within about 5 minutes. To use it on any day, just look for a column near your date. Then move left or right the number of days to your day. The best morning and best evening passes are shown. There is a lower pass 100 minutes earlier and 100 minutes later than the best passes shown. Evening passes will be the reverse. On the days when there are two passes, they are both low, and you won't be able to work the one before or after. On the days with a single pass shown it is a very high pass and there will be one before to the east and one after (100 minutes) to the west. Taking these in mind, consider your location in your time zone. If you are on the eastern edge, then the earlier pass will be better and the unprinted earlier pass will also be good. To the west of your timezone, the later passes are better. As the months progress, you can also shift earlier by 3 minutes per month for best accuracy. The tables above were generated at the center of their time zones 120, 109, 94, and 78 degrees west and about 40 degrees latitude and for passes above 25 degrees or so. Bob, WB4APR
